Full Time HIV Testing Outreach Coordinator

We are currently looking for a full-time HIV Testing Outreach Coordinator within the Outreach Services Department.  This position will work with staff and management of the Positive Resource Connection (PRC) in providing high-quality, coordinated, strength-based services consistent with PRC’s mission. The position will be responsible for conducting rapid or conventional HIV testing targeting populations heavily impacted by new HIV infection; providing individualized counseling to gauge risk prior to testing; facilitating individuals who are HIV positive and not in care and treatment into HIV services of PRC; conducting Hepatitis C testing targeting populations at increased risk for infection; networking and collaborating with agencies and organizations for testing and/or prevention educations; providing education and outreach programs to organizations when needed; and referring individuals to internal and external community resources for continuum of care for HIV negative and HIV positive individuals.

The candidate will be required to travel throughout twelve counties in northeast Indiana; work some evenings and some weekends; have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and dependable transportation; and successfully complete trainings in the Indiana State Department of Health’s HIV Prevention Counseling training course and Phlebotomy training, and HIV/STD Basic Training.  The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and possess strong skills in public speaking, leadership, the community, and written and verbal communication.
