The Pink Unicorn, a one-woman play
Written by: Elise Forier Edie
Starring: Maggie Kole Hunter
Directed by: John Tolley
Mrs. Tricia Lee is a Christian woman attempting to raise her granddaughter in a small town in East Texas. Tricia’s life is thrown into turmoil when the young girl announces that she is genderqueer and starting a chapter of the Gay and Straight Alliance at her local high school. Tricia confides in us, her audience, about all the questions she has, the fears she carries for her granddaughter, and the confusion of keeping company with people very different from herself. The one-woman telling of her story is a poignant, funny, heart-touching quest that leaves her listeners buoyed up by Tricia’s courage and a glimpse into our future that’s a better place than where we’ve been in our past.
Runtime: 75 minutes (no intermission)
This production is sponsored by John O’Connell & Jim Williams
