What is Hepatitis C and how is it spread?
There’s a lot to know when it comes to Hepatitis C. Get a full rundown about Hepatitis C. Otherwise we’ll give you the gist: Hepatitis C is a virus that infects the liver. It is usually spread through contact with blood from an infected person, often through sharing drug-injection equipment, unlicensed tattooing or body piercing, even sharing personal items like razors and toothbrushes!
What does it look like?
While many people don’t experience symptoms of Hepatitis C (all the more reason to get tested!), some common symptoms can include nausea/vomiting, fever, yellowing of the skin, dark urine and fatigue.
If left untreated, Hepatitis C can cause extreme liver damage or even cancer.
Should I get tested?
If you share needles, syringes or any other equipment used to prepare and inject drugs, we recommend getting tested for Hepatitis C.
What happens if I test positive?
Hep C can be successfully treated, and many times totally cured, with pills in just three months! Positive Resource Connection will be with you every step of the way.
